If you’re going to visit us on Discord, please note we’ve got some basic guidelines we ask all members and guests to follow. We’ll ask you to agree to these before joining the server.
1. Be excellent to each other.
This is the most important rule. All other rules exist only to help clarify this one.
Some examples of excellent behavior:
- Respecting others’ opinions (even if you don’t agree).
- Assuming good intent from others.
- Maintaining a positive attitude
2. Maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
We have members from all walks of life. Please do your part to ensure everyone feels welcome, including members of other ethnic backgrounds, nationalities, religions, and gender and sexual identities.
Some examples of welcoming behavior:
- Showing respect for others and their beliefs.
- Addressing others with the name and pronouns they prefer.
- Respecting the value of everyones’ lives and backgrounds.
3. Take your drama elsewhere.
Most of our members are adults who have already had their fair share of internet drama – we don’t need any more of it here. Take it to IM’s or take it elsewhere, and help keep our community friendly and fun.
Behaviors to avoid:
- Political soapboxing
- Intentionally provoking an argument
- Engaging others in bad faith or trolling
4. Don’t kill the vibe.
While we encourage our members and visitors to engage in discussion on whatever topics may interest them, this is contingent on consent. Some topics may be unwelcome or disruptive to others, especially on voice chat, and we ask everyone to take care to recognize when it is time to move on or move the conversation elsewhere.
5. Respect our staff.
Where further guidelines don’t yet exist, we appreciate your respect for discretion of our staff and administrators as they help manage our community.
